The society serves to promote, cultivate, and exchange experiences in research, development, and application of photogrammetry, remote sensing, and geoinformatics in various branches of science, society, and technology.
Maintenance and promotion
- of scientific and applied photogrammetry for solving problems in surveying, cartography, construction, mining, the automotive and aviation industries, medical technology, and other areas of non-contact measurement;
- remote sensing and its application in the geosciences, agriculture and forestry, land-use planning, environmental protection, archaeology, etc.;
- geoinformatics and its areas of application in the geosciences;
- all techniques of photogrammetry and remote sensing for the acquisition, recording, processing, and display of image data from the immediate vicinity, the airspace, and outer space, in particular their integration into geographic information systems (GIS);
- education at universities and technical colleges as well as continuing professional development;
- the further training of its members through working groups, annual scientific and technical conferences, and other events.
Scientific publications
