The Real Estate Lab brings together geoinformation, the real estate industry, public administration, and academia with the goal of further developing real estate data as strategic infrastructure and addressing it at the policy level.

The 2025 White Paper, »Real Estate and Its Data: Responsibility for the Future«, showed that Germany has one of the densest real estate data landscapes in Europe but systematically uses it below its potential. Not because data is lacking, but because it is fragmented, insufficiently accessible from a legal perspective and technically not designed 
for the requirements of a data-driven economy.
