About the Speaker
Mario is a data scientist at Pointly with a strong background in particle physics and artificial intelligence. He completed his PhD working on the CMS experiment at CERN, where he gained extensive experience in data analysis, programming in Python and C++, and solving complex scientific problems within large international collaborations.
After leaving academia, he transitioned into data science by completing a 9 week Data Science and AI bootcamp at Le Wagon in Berlin. He now works on developing deep learning models for the classification of 3D LiDAR point clouds, combining his scientific expertise with practical applications in AI.

Pointly: AI Processing Engine for Automatically Converting Point Clouds into structured BIM Input
Pointly provides an AI powered engine that automatically performs classification and CAD data extraction from point clouds, as well as generating structured GeoJSON and BIM relevant outputs. The solution is designed for large scale applications, enabling fast, consistent and scalable processing to support efficient analysis and downstream workflows. We will present how Pointly’s 3D AI models are applied in real world use cases across multiple industries, including railway, powerline corridor and mobile mapping projects.
