The service center is based within the Federal Agency for Cartography and Geodesy (BKG) and serves as a central hub for providing federal geotopographic and geodetic reference data via web services or downloads. These geodata and services are accessible to federal agencies, public administrations, commercial enterprises, scientific institutions and private citizens. Staff at the service center analyze individual requirements to provide customers with practical, tailored products and services.
To support this, the service center operates high-performance web servers that offer a wide range of highly available web services. These can be easily integrated into proprietary applications and continuously access to the latest geospatial base data. Users can select geodata by region and topic, and download it in various georeferencing systems and data exchange formats.
